UCDW November Meeting Quick Notes

Post Mordem discussion on the local election results and our newspaper efforts. Report from Ashley Dittus on Court Order effecting voting machines in the supreme court races. Report from Marcy Goulart on ERLC luncheon in NYC. Fresh ideas for 2012 include more speakers, press releases and letters to the editor and a great women's event. Discussed upcoming annual Holiday Party and our honoree - Roz Stark.


UCDW October Meeting Quick Notes

Dessert Party - Meet the candidates night. We raised money for our newspaper and heard inspiring words from Mike Hein, Jon Senett and several of our legislative candidates including Mark Trott, Gerald Lyons, Roscoe Percora and Tim Distel. UCDW Award money to Virginia Luppino, Tracey Bartels and Jen Metzger. This month's meeting was moved to the 3rd Monday of the month due to the holiday.

UCDW August Meeting 2011 Quick Notes

We got a quick visit from Tom Breslin, who is running for Supreme Court Justice, District 3. UCDW members discussed the upcoming election season. UCDW will purchase a 1/2 page ad in the National Federation of Democratic Women's Journal. UCDW will layout fundraising journal honoring County Executive, Mike Hein for UCDC's annual Fall Dinner, October 2, 2011. UCDW will participate at the Hootenstock sponsored by The Marlborough Democratic Committee. We'll have a table at UCDC's Rally on the Rondout. October's meeting is moved to Monday October 17 and will be a Meet the Candidates Dessert Party. UCDW begins this year's candidate web page and newspaper fundraising.


UCDW July Meeting 2011 Quick Notes

UCDW members discussed preparation for Ulster County Fair. UCDW will staff the Democrats table at the fair on Wednesday, August 3rd. Also decided - UCDW will host one phone banking night each month until the election. August UCDW Phone Bank Night is Wednesday, August 10, 5:30-8. On the topic of hunger in the county, UCDW collected $80 in donations from attendees and added $20 for Queens Galley Kitchen.

UCDW March 2011 Meeting Notes

UCDW Leadership chair, Marcy Goulart reported on International Women's Day Walk Over the Hudson. She and other members carried the UCDW banner. We got a visit from Mike Hein's campaign manager, Dan Epstein.

We discussed the redistricting of Ulster County Legislative districts. The committee proposing the new district lines meets every Wednesday from 3-5 PM at the county building on Fair Street - the public may attend but not comment during the meeting. Bring your knitting, watch the process.


UCDW February 2011 Meeting Notes

UCDW members voted to join Binghamton Democratic Women and Orange County Democratic Women as members of the National Federation of Democratic Women. We'll travel to Binghamton to meet our the BDW on April 7 for their Chili Fest fundraiser.


UCDW January 10, 2011 Meeting Notes

Guest speakers included Ulster County Executive Mike Hein and Jon Sennett. Vic Work, our new Board of Elections Commissioner, gave a member report. We disdussed the Arizona shooting of Congresswoman Giffords. We discussed event planning for 2011 including our Spring Campaign School.
