UCDW Leadership chair, Marcy Goulart reported on International Women's Day Walk Over the Hudson. She and other members carried the UCDW banner. We got a visit from Mike Hein's campaign manager, Dan Epstein.
We discussed the redistricting of Ulster County Legislative districts. The committee proposing the new district lines meets every Wednesday from 3-5 PM at the county building on Fair Street - the public may attend but not comment during the meeting. Bring your knitting, watch the process.
UCDW members voted to join Binghamton Democratic Women and Orange County Democratic Women as members of the National Federation of Democratic Women. We'll travel to Binghamton to meet our the BDW on April 7 for their Chili Fest fundraiser.
Guest speakers included Ulster County Executive Mike Hein and Jon Sennett. Vic Work, our new Board of Elections Commissioner, gave a member report. We disdussed the Arizona shooting of Congresswoman Giffords. We discussed event planning for 2011 including our Spring Campaign School.
