BRIAN CAHILL - A BRIEF BIO

Ulster County Legislator Brian Cahill is a first term Legislator representing the Ulster/Kingston 5th Legislative district. Cahill is the Chairman of the Administrative Services Committee (highly uncommon for a first term legislator). He served on the Public Works committee as well as the Art's, Education Tourism, Veterans, and Community Relations committee.
Brian Cahill also serves on the Ulster County Office for the Aging Advisory Council, the Ulster County Global Warming Advisory Board, and on the Ulster County Ethics Board as a 4 year member.

He was initiator of the following laws/resolutions during the past 20 months:

1) Background checks for county employees

2) Stricter smoking guidelines for county owned/leased properties.

3) Volunteer firefighter and EMS worker tax exemptions

4) Increased Water testing at the Hudson River beaches in Ulster County

5) Free health screening for County workers.

6) Appointed 5 women as Department heads.
